Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football quarterback Eric Dungey is starting against North Carolina State on Saturday.
The decision to start him by head coach Dino Babers comes after a week of coy phrasing and significant public speculation. A four-year starter, Dungey was replaced by redshirt freshman Tommy DeVito with five minutes left in regulation against North Carolina last weekend. DeVito threw three touchdowns en route to a 40-37 come-from-behind win in double overtime.
Dungey has struggled with his accuracy in recent weeks, throwing for one touchdown to three interceptions against UNC, Pittsburgh and Clemson. He is, however, Syracuse's leader in rushing yards gained and rushing touchdowns this season.
