Syracuse football puts on pads, injuries follow (Day 5 camp notes/video)

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The annual tradition of breaking out the shoulder pads is one beloved by players and coaches.

But with the return of contact often comes injuries, and this year is no different. SU practiced in pads and shorts on Sunday, leaving three players sidelined for Tuesday morning's session.

Most notably, junior defensive end Kendall Coleman isn't participating due to an apparent right knee injury. The projected starter suffered from foot and shoulder injuries last season, the latter of which limited him during the spring.

Coleman, who wore a brace on his knee, stood alongside redshirt freshman defensive end Zach Morton during part of the open portion of practice.
