‘Twas the week that begins ACC games for Syracuse football and Orange Nation
Some fans were stressed and worried while others felt giddy with excitement and elation
The out of schedule games are done and hopefully, a bowl game is within our trajectory
In the hopes that we improve from last season and enter into off 4 victories
The Syracuse football coaches and staff hopefully nested together and gelling as a team
With visions of a winning season being more likely than some experts seemed
And I in my 44 football Jersey, Orange suspenders and my Orange wig on my head
Am settling my brains in for whether bad or good is a long season ahead
When down in Tallahassee, a football game will cause such a clatter
And I’ll spring up and wait with anticipation for kickoff to see how it will matter
Away to my radio and TK99 to listen to the Voice of the Orange Matt Park
Where I can hear the play by play and the excitement as we embark
On a journey for a roller coaster ride filled with many emotions
And finally, see if fans like me get a payoff for our devotion
And what will my wandering ears finally be able to hear
Those players we love running onto the field and yes I will cheer
I know in that moment I’ll be filled with excitement and glee
More rapid my heartbeat as we draw closer to the games
We will whistle and shout and flip the banner of opponents’ names
On Florida State!
