It seems many Syracuse football fans are clamoring for the 2019 football season to start, but to wet the appetite here’s some big scheduling news for the future.
Syracuse and Ohio have consummated a home-and-home agreement to be played in 2021 and 2024 respectively.
“The Orange will open the 2021 season in Athens, Ohio against the Bobcats on Sept. 4. Syracuse hosts Ohio in the return game on Aug. 31, 2024”, per the official press release.
Syracuse hasn’t played the Ohio Bobcats since 1921, in the team’s previous two meetings (both played in Syracuse) the Orange won by a combined score of 111 to nothing:
- 1916: Syracuse beat Ohio 73-0
- 1921: the Orange beat the Bobcats 38-0
Although the Ohio Bobcats have really turned things around in the last 100 years.
