Syracuse, N.Y. — While Syracuse fans packed Manley Field House on Saturday morning to scoop up discounted apparel, the football team ran a 150-play scrimmage in the Carrier Dome.
It was the first extended scrimmage period of the preseason for Dino Babers' team.
The main takeaways?
After struggling to find the end zone in the first half, the offense scored five times in the second.
The defense found some key turnovers and held its own.
And, yeah, it was hot.
High temperatures and humidity have settled over the region this week. With storms expected this afternoon and this evening, the university canceled its fan fest event, which would've given fans a chance to view today's scrimmage.
