The first and only Syracuse football player came off the board with the 245th overall pick in the seventh round by the New York Giants was defensive lineman Chris Slayton.
In an article released earlier this week, Syracuse fans voted on which SU player was the most likely to be selected and Slayton earned 48 percent of the votes.
If you just look at the stats, you won’t understand the impact that Slayton had on the hill for the Orange:
- 6-foot-4
- 309 pounds
- 7.5 career sacks
- 30.5 tackles for loss
- Four forced fumbles
Which has led to some NFL Draft analysts questioning why that’s the case?
