Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football recently voted for team captains and the results were announced early Tuesday afternoon: quarterback Eric Dungey, defensive tackle Chris Slayton and punter Sterling Hofrichter.
"Eric, Chris and Sterling have carried themselves the right way both on and off the football field," SU head coach Dino Babers said in a statement. "Their consistency and their commitment to bringing the younger players along have put us in a position to achieve some things that haven't been done here in a long time."
Dungey, a senior, and Hofrichter, a redshirt junior, are two-time captains after being elected by their teammates midway through last fall.
