SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange football team did not practice yesterday due to a miscommunication about when Syracuse would begin weekly COVID-19 testing.
On Friday, Syracuse Director of Athletics John Wildhack said that from now on the team will be tested once a during the preseason and three times per week once the regular season begins. The Orange are scheduled to open their 130th gridiron campaign at North Carolina on Sept. 12.
"Our top priority continues to be the health, safety and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, fans and campus community members," Wildhack said.
