Charlotte -- Syracuse football junior-college transfer Mykelti Williams was not admitted to the university and will not be joining the team.
Syracuse athletics confirmed Williams' status Thursday here at the ACC Football Kickoff.
Williams, who signed with Syracuse this spring out of Iowa Western Community College, previously spent one season at Notre Dame before leaving the university.
The addition of th e 6-foot, 210-pound Williams would've added to a competitive safety group that features returning starter Antwan Cordy and several others with playing experience.
