Syracuse Orange starting center Jason Emerich left the Louisville game with a shoulder injury. As the weeks went on, Emerich’s name seemed to be affixed to the injury report and Dino Babers alluded to the fact that it was unlikely he would play again this season.
That news was confirmed Tuesday as SU Athletics announced Emerich has undergone shoulder surgery on October 11 and he will miss the remainder of the season. That will also conclude the redshirt senior’s college career, unfortunately.
Colin Byrne has been filling in as the starting Orange center with Donnie Foster backing him up.
