No, that headline is not a typo. Syracuse football, which hasn’t seen a five-star recruit in years, just got a commitment from tight end Chris Clark. Clark will be transferring to Syracuse from UCLA. He will be required to sit out for a year, so he will suit up for Syracuse starting in the 2017-18 season. There is an outside chance he gets a waiver to play next year, but it’s rather unlikely without a medical hardship.
This is tremendous news for a team that is already playing well with some very young players. In two years, many of the freshman and sophomores that are playing now will have three years under their belts and be seasoned veterans.
