After staving off Father Time for 16 years, Freeney finally succumbed to the undefeated old sage who claims all victims. Although Freeney’s track record against Father Time was pretty incredible.
Not only did Freeney garner 125.5 sacks, but he was able to transition from a full time player into a situational pass rusher seamlessly.
Most players would have just folded and retired years ago, not Freeney. So NFL Insider Field Yates revealed the news on Twitter that Freeney was hanging it up:
