If we’re being real there’s no rivalry between Syracuse football and the Pitt Panthers.
The definition of a rivalry is “competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field,” per Dictionary.com.
The other part of that definition is trading wins and losses back and forth. If one team is pounding the other over a sustained period of time, that’s not a rivalry, that’s a one-sided beatdown.
When you look historically at Syracuse vs Pitt, how can this be a rivalry?
The Panthers have beaten the Orange in 12 out of the last 14 meetings.
