Syracuse, N.Y. -- Scott Shafer week has officially arrived.
In one of the most intriguing matchups in recent Syracuse football history, the Orange -- touted for head coach Dino Babers' hurry-up, spread offense -- will face Shafer's high-pressure defense when Middle Tennessee State comes to the Carrier Dome on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
"I think it's going to be a heck of a chess match," Babers said at his Monday press conference. "It's going to be a great exam. It's going to be tough (because) you don't know what the questions are on it. The best thing I can do is get a good night's sleep and show up with a clear mind so I can adjust and improvise.
