Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football's preparation for No. 3 Clemson took a turn Wednesday morning when Tigers senior quarterback Kelly Bryant told the Greenville News that he was transferring out.
The decision came in the wake of CU head coach Dabo Swinney naming freshman Trevor Lawrence the Week 5 starter on Monday.
Later in the morning, both Swinney and Orange head coach Dino Babers discussed the situation on the ACC coaches' teleconference.
"This was a little bit of a surprise to me," Babers said. "I really anticipated playing against both quarterbacks. So I really haven't digested the whole thing yet.
