Syracuse Football: Chris Slayton drawing serious NFL interest

In Week 17 former Syracuse football stud Chris Slayton made his NFL debut on the active roster for the New York Giants.

It was the first time Slayton was promoted from the team’s practice squad this season. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan revealed the reason why he was activated.

“The Giants elevated rookie DT Chris Slayton from the practice squad. Placed TE Rhett Ellison on injured reserve. This move was made because there were other teams interested in signing Slayton off the Giants practice squad. He was their seventh-round pick out of Syracuse.
