The recent pledge by 2021 three-star linebacker Malik Matthew to Syracuse football gives the Orange nine players in this recruiting cycle, with six of those guys on defense.
Matthew, a rising senior at Herbert H. Lehman High School in the Bronx, N.Y., who is also slotted in the top 10 as far as Empire State prospects in the 2021 class go, revealed his commitment to the ‘Cuse on the same day that ESPN.com published its latest top-25 class ratings for the 2021 cycle.
Unsurprisingly, Syracuse didn’t make the cut for the ESPN.
