Syracuse football got their signature moment at the last possible opportunity in Week 14 vs the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Despite seemingly having nothing to play for the Orange pulled out a 39-30 victory on Saturday to finish with a 5-7 overall record.
Obviously to score that many points Syracuse needed their big-time players to make some big-time plays.
The reigning, defending Lou Groza Award winner Andre Szmyt delivered a career performance. He smacked four field goals through the uprights from 20, 24, 44, and 49 yards out respectively. On top of that, he was perfect with his extra-point attempts going 3-for-3 and had a season-high 15 of the team’s 39 points.
