Syracuse, N.Y. - Paschal Chukwu has undergone the final procedure to mend eye trouble that kept him out of most of the 2016-17 college basketball season.
"It went well," he said Wednesday during a brief conversation in the Syracuse locker room following the Orange's win over UNC-Greensboro in the first round of the NIT.
A detached retina caused Chukwu, SU's 7-foot-2 sophomore center, to go temporarily blind in one eye last December before the first of three surgeries aimed at fully restoring his vision. He said he's been working out with restrictions in recent weeks. He has been prohibited from wearing his contact lenses until his doctor clears him, he said.
