Syracuse basketball's Oshae Brissett nears record held by Carmelo Anthony

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse forward Oshae Brissett is going to the free throw line more than any freshman in SU history other than the legendary Carmelo Anthony.

Brissett, a 6-foot-8 forward, has attempted 127 free throws through Syracuse's first 20 games of the 2017-18 season. If he keeps up that pace for the remainder of the season, Brissett could challenge Anthony's record for most free throw attempts in a season by a Syracuse freshman.

Anthony, who led the Orange to the 2003 NCAA championship in his one and only year at SU, attempted 238 free throws during the 2002-03 season.
