Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse suffered a damaging 74-70 loss to North Carolina State on Wednesday at the Carrier Dome. The loss not only dropped the Orange's record to 17-9 overall (6-7 in the ACC), but it took away one more opportunity for Syracuse to add to its NCAA tournament resume.
Good wins, especially those away from home, carry more weight in the NCAA Selection Committee's new criteria for evaluating wins and losses.
Even with the loss, Syracuse remains in the NCAA conversation. ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi updated his brackets on Thursday morning and still had Syracuse among his First 4 Out.
