Syracuse basketball has had at least one player selected in the first round of the NBA draft since 2012. From Dion Waiters (fourth overall) six years ago to Tyler Lydon (24th overall) this past June, it is easy to see why Jim Boeheim is one of the better coaches in college hoops.
Only Kentucky’s John Calipari (eight straight years) and Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski (seven straight years) have longer streaks of graduates being selected NBA Drafts first round.
For Tyus Battle and Oshae Brissett‘s sake, it makes sense to end this streak in order to secure Syracuse a chance at winning it all next season.
