Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse Orange men's basketball team opens up the 2017-18 season with a game against the Cornell Big Red on Friday at the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse returns just one full-time starter from last year's team, which finished with a 19-15 record and wound up missing out on an NCAA tournament bid. Tyus Battle, a 6-foot-6 sophomore, is the Orange's leading returning scorer.
Cornell is coming off an 8-21 season, but has higher aspirations in Brian Earl's second year as the head coach. Cornell returns three starters.
Syracuse leads the all-time series 91-31. Cornell's last win over the Orange came on Dec.
