I have only one thing to say about the antiquated RPI; see you later, alligator!
The NCAA announced on Wednesday that it has developed a new measurement to replace the RPI as the primary mechanism for evaluating squads during each Division I men’s basketball season.
According to this press release, the NCAA Evaluation Tool, known as NET, relies on various factors, such as game results and locations, strengths of schedule, scoring margins, the quality of wins and losses, and net offensive and defensive efficiency.
In creating NET, the NCAA looked to build a device that proves as accurate as possible, while also evaluating teams’ performances fairly.
