Syracuse, N.Y. -- Joe Girard III averaged more than 50 points per game his junior season at Glens Falls, a Class B school in Upstate New York.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound guard tallied 56 points in his team's loss in the Section II semifinals that ended his season. His ability to score has opened plenty of eyes in college basketball recruiting circles. Already, he has surpassed Lance Stephenson's New York State career scoring mark of 2,946 points.
Syracuse offered the Class of 2019 guard a scholarship last month. Other Power 5 conference schools have also made it clear they want Girard in their programs.
