Syracuse, N.Y. -- Joe Girard III, a highly-regarded basketball recruit, shined in Glens Falls' 2018 football season-opener on Saturday.
Girard, a 6-2 guard when he's on the basketball court, played both offense and defense on Saturday. On defense, he lined up at safety.
But it was at quarterback where Girard truly stood out. He completed 10 of 14 passes for 278 yards and four touchdowns to lead Glens Falls to a 43-14 victory over Schuylerville. Girard also ran for two scores.
The game was a rematch of last year's Section II Class B championship game, which Glens Falls had won in overtime.
