New York -- The Syracuse-Connecticut rivalry never disappoints.
Syracuse and UConn, the two former Big East foes now playing in two different conferences, reunited in their old stomping grounds of Madison Square Garden and once again brought back memories of past battles.
The two fan bases filled the Garden and the two teams filled the arena with intensity.
Syracuse trailed by as many as 13 points, but Tyus Battle's 3-pointer trimmed the margin to 4 with just under four minutes remaining.
However, the Orange's comeback came up short when UConn's Alterique Gilbert and Jalen Adams knocked down back-to-back 3s to pave the way to an 83-76 win here on Thursday night.
