Syracuse basketball Senior Day a chance to celebrate Patrick Herlihy, a team manager who earned a roster spot

Syracuse, N.Y. -- For three years Patrick Herlihy performed the routine chores that keep the Syracuse men's basketball team humming on a day-to-day basis.

He carried towels. He fetched water. He cleaned up extra clothes and put away equipment after practice. He arrived an hour before practice, stayed an hour late and performed any tasks that could ease the burden on Syracuse's coaches and players.

Syracuse always honors its senior managers on Senior Day, appreciation for all of that unheralded work. The senior managers walk onto the Carrier Dome floor for the final regular-season came clad in suits and flanked by their parents.
