Syracuse, N.Y. — It would be a cliche to say that the Syracuse coaches put all of their eggs in one basket when it came to recruiting Quade Green.
A cliche, yes, but true nonetheless.
And all those eggs cracked when Green, a highly regarded senior point guard at Neumann-Goretti High School in Philadelphia, Pa., announced on Saturday night that he had decided to play at Kentucky.
The Syracuse coaches had recruited Green for over two years, leaning on long-standing relationships at his high school, which had produced former SU players Rick Jackson and Scoop Jardine; and his AAU program.
