Louisville, Ky. -- At halftime of Syracuse's game at Louisville Monday night, two Orange players had accumulated three fouls and two others had picked up two fouls.
Those circumstances would trigger alarm from the coaching staffs of any college basketball team. But Syracuse this season is no ordinary team. Reduced on Monday to a mere six recruited scholarship athletes, the Orange's shallow depths were threatened by the early foul situation.
"We had massive foul trouble the whole game," SU coach Jim Boeheim said. "I thought our players were smart. They were good. They stayed away from situations.
