Syracuse, N.Y. - Between college basketball games over the weekend, the inevitable remarks and revelations dotted the telecasts:
College basketball coaches alleged to have agreed to payments to secure recruited players. Potential NCAA violations, some of them major, some of them minor, attached to various players, some of them still wearing their school's uniform.
It was a lot to absorb, even to the cynic who believes the college game has always been rigged to favor the chosen few.
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim and Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski weighed in after the Blue Devils defeated the Orange 60-44 in Durham last Saturday, Krzyzewski going so far as to envision a day when sports agents sat at the table during a recruiting pitch from a college coach.
