Syracuse basketball PG Frank Howard is out of boot, no time frame for return

Syracuse, N.Y. -- All three of Syracuse's point guards watched the Orange's exhibition victory over the College of Saint Rose on Thursday night from the end of the team's bench.

Frank Howard, the Orange's returning starter, along with sophomore Howard Washington and freshman Jalen Carey were sidelined by various injuries.

Syracuse won 80-49, but the Orange struggled at times without a true playmaker at the point. Tyus Battle, the team's leading scorer last season, moved to the point on Thursday. He finished with just seven points on 1-for-10 shooting. He missed his first nine field goal attempts.
