Syracuse basketball misses out as Columbia's Grant Mullins picks California

Syracuse, N.Y. — Columbia University guard Grant Mullins will transfer to California, according to multiple reports.

Mullins, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, had visited Syracuse last weekend. His final list of schools included Cal, Syracuse and Michigan.

ESPN.com's Jeff Borzello was the first to report Mullins' decision to play for Cal next season.

Mullins averaged 13.1 points per game for Columbia this past season.
