Let’s roll back the clock to about nine months ago. It was the beginning of summer and the Syracuse basketball season wasn’t even a thought to most fans.
One of the few things we knew about the Orange was that they would have a pretty dynamic freshman class, led by the sharpshooting Malachi Richardson.
Back then, we didn’t know a lot about Richardson, aside from the fact that he was a 3-point specialist who was also the player of the year in New Jersey. We knew he had size and that he could possibly be a good fit for the Syracuse zone, but that was about it.
