Syracuse Basketball: Malachi Richardson Expected to Play Small Forward

The freshman will play forward this season in an attempt to get more shooters on the floor at all times.

Malachi Richardson has come to Syracuse with the reputation of being a tremendous shooter. The 6-foot-6 freshman has a feathery stroke, one that will make Syracuse Orange fans flashback to James Southerland. Now, Mike Waters reports that Jim Boeheim will play Richardson at forward, not guard.

"Malachi will play small forward, which will give us four frontline players. There's never been any other thought for this year."

This will give Syracuse multiple perimeter threats, something that has been lacking the last two seasons on the offensive end.
