When Mike Hopkins, Syracuse basketball’s coach-in-waiting, elected to take the top job at Washington about two years ago, and SU head coach Jim Boeheim remained at the helm of the Orange, it seemed natural to assume that Boeheim would roam the sidelines on the Hill until his son, freshman guard Buddy Boeheim, finished up his career with the ‘Cuse.
Not so fast.
In an interview with Syracuse.com at the recently concluded Final Four in Minneapolis, Jim Boeheim, who is 74 years old, denied an end-game or timeline for eventually riding off into the sunset.
