There will be yet another familiar face on the Syracuse Orange sidelines this season. Eric Devendorf, who played for Jim Boeheim from 2005-2009, rejoins the program as an assistant strength coach this season. Devendorf, who scored 1,680 points in his SU career, is best remembered as a clutch shooter and heated competitor... and standing on a table at Madison Square Garden.
Based on what we remember of Devendorf as a player, it may come as a surprise to see him part of the Orange basketball staff today. His energy and demonstrative nature didn’t necessarily seem like that of a coach back then.
