The Syracuse basketball squad is frequently – and often unfairly – criticized for not recruiting as well as the sport’s blue bloods, but in actuality, the ‘Cuse isn’t so shabby in this department. In fact, from my perspective, the Orange is among the best in the country.
Sure, Syracuse typically loses out on top-flight targets to a handful of college-basketball powerhouses, such as Duke, Kansas, Kentucky or North Carolina, for example.
In all fairness, though, the vast majority of schools, many of which excel in collegiate hoops like the ‘Cuse, swing and miss when pursuing the cream of the crop.
