Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse guard Howard Washington underwent surgery on Friday to repair the torn ACL in his right knee.
The surgery was performed by Dr. John Cannizzaro on Friday at Upstate Medical Center. Syracuse trainer Brad Pike said Washington's surgery went well.
"It went great,'' Pike said Monday. "(Dr. Cannizzaro) is very pleased.''
It will be six to nine months before Washington can be expected to return to the basketball court, according to Pike.
Washington was at the Orange's practice on Monday, but remained in the team's training room.
