Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Syracuse basketball team received Top 25 for the first time this season on Monday, earning six points in the newest USA Today Coaches Poll.
Those points put Syracuse 17th among the also receiving votes portion of the list and 42nd overall. The Orange were one point behind Florida State and two votes in front of Virginia Tech.
The Orange did not receive any votes in the Associated Press Top 25, although Monday night's opponent, Maryland, earned a single 25th-place vote. That game is expected to be the toughest of the year for the Orange to date.
