Atlanta -- Syracuse University basketball freshman Howard Washington will miss the remainder of the season.
Washington, a 6-foot-3 guard from Buffalo, injured his right leg during the Orange's practice on Monday.
He did not travel with the rest of the Syracuse team to the Orange's game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Wednesday.
Washington appeared in 18 games this season. He was averaging 1.1 points in 6.2 minutes per game. He is not eligible for a medical redshirt, having exceeded the NCAA's maximum number of games played to seek such a waiver.
Washington's injury leaves Syracuse with just seven available scholarship players.
