In his first stint seeing court time with the Syracuse basketball squad, by and large, Elijah Hughes delivered a solid 2018-19 term.
Though a tad inconsistent, Hughes, the former East Carolina transfer, averaged about 33 minutes per contest while tallying 13.7 points, good for second-highest on the ‘Cuse crew, to go along with 4.3 rebounds.
He connected on a solid 42 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from 3-point range, and 74.2 percent from the charity stripe. As the lone starter who will return in 2019-20, and with two stanzas of eligibility remaining, I expect Hughes to soar to even greater heights in the upcoming season.
