The SU hoops squad has some happy, and slightly unfortunate, news to digest as the week wraps up. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports has tweeted out that sophomore center Paschal Chukwu is fully cleared to practice. Paschal Chukwu sat out most of the 2016-17 campaign due to an eye injury. Rothstein’s tweet cited a university spokesman in providing the information on Chukwu.
The former Providence transfer only saw action in a handful of contests this past season. He suffered a torn retina in his right eye that required surgery in mid-December. That injury forced him to miss the bulk of the 2016-17 stanza.
