Syracuse, N.Y. -- Bourama Sidibe sports a new two-inch scar on his left knee and high hopes for his sophomore season.
Sidibe, Syracuse's 6-foot-10 center, struggled through a difficult freshman season as a severe case of tendinitis in his left knee impacted his performance throughout the year.
On March 30, just one week after Syracuse's season ended with a loss to Duke in the NCAA tournament's Sweet 16, Sidibe underwent surgery on the knee.
Two months later, Sidibe said his recovery is ahead of schedule and he hopes to be playing in another two months.
In the meantime, Sidibe is able to go through some shooting drills, lift weights and undergo therapy with SU trainer Brad Pike and SU strength coach Ryan Cabiles every day.
