Syracuse, N.Y. — Despite its recent hot streak the Syracuse basketball team finds itself a 7-point road underdog as it travels to Louisville on Wednesday.
The Orange (18-8 8-5 ACC) has won five straight and eight of its past nine but oddsmakers have still installed a ranked Louisville team as the heavy favorite. Louisville (19-6, 8-4) is ranked No. 18 in the AP Top 25, and is not eligible to be ranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Syracuse received votes in each poll.
The Cardinals are just 1-2 since the school announced the basketball team would serve a postseason ban this season due to an NCAA investigation into allegations that strippers and prostitutes were provided to players and recruits by a basketball staff member.
