Syracuse Athletics recorded revenue of $93.8 million in 2017-18, as well as spending of $77.1 million during that same period of time, per a report by Chris Carlson of Syracuse.com. Both figures are records for the athletics department, according to Carlson.
The Syracuse.com article notes that SU, along with every other school across the country, “self-reports financial information to the federal government annually in order to comply with the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act.” The most-recent data cover the 2017-18 academic year, writes Carlson.
The Syracuse.com story also says that the Orange has 16 sport offerings, which is a smaller amount when compared to many other colleges and universities within Power 5 conferences.
