Syracuse, N.Y. — For the past two years, Syracuse Chancellor Kent Syverud has targeted the end of the academic year as a deadline for solving the college's Carrier Dome conundrum.
With graduation just two days away, and Syracuse's Board of Trustees meeting on Friday and Saturday, the clock is ticking and expectations for a decision are growing.
"Within the next 24 months we have to decide what we're going to do," Syverud said in June of 2014. "Twenty-four months because the useful life of the current roof is at most five years, and a process of replacing it — getting the fabric, getting it installed, planning for all the disruption around that — is a couple year process.
