Syracuse -- Syracuse football fans haven't enjoyed the level of success the Orange has had this season since 2001. The most recent successful coach before Dino Babers arrived called working at SU his "dream job" then left after four years to coach the Buffalo Bills.
Babers went 9-3 this season and put together the second-best resume of all ACC teams yet, based on his 2016 salary numbers, seems likely to have ranked in the bottom half of the ACC in terms of compensation.
All of that has created a level of concern for SU football fans about Dino Babers remaining at SU long-term that has swelled as other "hot" coaches like Purdue's Jeff Brohm and Iowa State's Matt Campbell have announced contract extensions with their schools in recent weeks.
