And it wasn't even that close.
Thanks to a throughly-dominating 23-4 first quarter, the Syracuse Orange women's basketball squad had an easy rest of the day taking care of business in the Carrier Dome, eventually trouncing the Army Black Knights, 73-56.
The Orange cooled their jets in the second quarter but still took a commanding 39-14 lead into halftime. Given the way Army was used to dominating opponents, it must have been a serious case of shell shock. Army fought back in the second half and made the final score seem respectable-ish, but this one was over before they even re-emerged from the locker rooms.
