Syracuse, N.Y. -- Even on those days when she leaves it all on the field, there are parts of her that Syracuse women's lacrosse attack Nicole Levy just can't be without.
That's why Levy was grateful after a recent workout when teammate Ella Simkins ran up to her and handed over a small object that Levy had dropped on the Ensley Athletic Center turf.
It was a light switch. Since high school, Levy has carried it with her to practices and games.
It helps remind her to separate the fun of her sport from the intensity needed to succeed in it.
